Can I change the windows in my conservatory?

In short, yes! You’re able to change the windows in your conservatory and in fact, we encourage you to. If your conservatory is particularly old or damaged it may not have enough structural integrity to handle replacement windows. Although this isn’t a common occurrence Halstead Glass will always test the integrity of your conservatory before completing any work.

When should I change the windows in my conservatory?

When your conservatory begins to age you may find that it’s letting in more cold than usual and it’s overheating in the summer. After 15 years your conservatory windows will begin to lose energy efficiency and you may notice the room taking longer to warm up or draughts coming through. As soon as you notice a difference in your conservatory you should be looking to upgrade your windows.

If your conservatory windows are damaged in any way you should look to replace them as soon as possible. Not only will your energy efficiency decrease but you’ll be creating a weak spot, leaving your home vulnerable to intruders.

When you’re replacing your conservatory windows you need to take into account the material your conservatory was made using. Replacing the windows with the same material as the conservatory framing will create a seamless design. The most common building material used for conservatories is uPVC, thanks to its incredible durability, security, and energy efficiency.

All our windows are made to measure so you can be sure you’re getting the perfect windows for your conservatory. Painting uPVC windows may be one option, however this requires a lot of prep work, time and skill. With our uPVC windows, you’ll be able to decide on the colour, you can choose to match the windows in your home or go for something completely different. There’s also the option to use a wood effect colour to promote the same effect as timber windows without having to deal with lengthy maintenance.

Can I replace my conservatory roof or doors too?

If you’ve noticed your current conservatory door has become draughty or the functionality has decreased, it’s time to look at replacing it. A uPVC French door is the perfect addition to any conservatory. You’ll even be able to match the colour of your French door to your conservatory windows. They’ll achieve exceptional levels of thermal efficiency whilst bringing an elegant charm to your home.

Upgrading your conservatory roof is one of the best things you can do when you want to improve the thermal efficiency, security and appearance of your conservatory. It can even increase the value of your home whilst adding plenty of kerb appeal to your home as a whole. At Halstead Glass, we offer three replacement conservatory roof options that are all incredible options for homes in Essex.
