We were recently contacted by a homeowner in Essex who was looking to replace their existing conservatory roof with something more energy efficient and aesthetically pleasing.
Previously, the space had been too cold in the winter and hot in the summer, so the customer was keen to replace the roof with a more modern one that would solve these issues.
We have a range of roofs available to suit the needs of all clients, but after a consultation with this particular homeowner, we supplied and installed a thermally efficient Warmer Roof with grey slate tiles.
Upgrading the existing, underperforming roof
The customer’s previous polycarbonate conservatory roof was underperforming in terms of energy efficiency, and was also proving difficult to regulate in terms of temperature. We were tasked with removing it and replacing it with something more modern, warm, and compliant with building control regulations.
An energy efficient Warmer Roof
The existing roof was removed and replaced with a thermally efficient Warmer Roof, which helped transform the conservatory into a living space that can be used all year round. Made from a pre-assembled timber structure, Warmer Roofs keep living spaces warm in the winter and cool in the summer, as well as reducing exterior noise and eliminating sun glare.
As well as saving the customer money by improving thermal performance, the roof has likely also added value to the property itself – not only due to its energy efficiency but also as a result of the aesthetic improvement.
Giving living space a new lease of life
This wasn’t the most straight forward installation as it was directly above the customers’ existing kitchen, meaning that our fitting team – Craig and Luke – had to take care throughout the process.
The roof was also finished with grey Britmet slate tiles, giving it a modern, elegant look. The tiles are lightweight and available in a variety of different colours, providing the homeowner with plenty of choice when it comes to the aesthetics of their property.
